Turn any ordinary inverter into a solar inverter
The Systellar SMU Converter / Power Saver Accessory works together with Systellar branded PWM and MPPT solar charge controllers to convert any standard inverter or UPS into a solar inverter — without replacing the inverter you already own.
It does this by controlling when your inverter is allowed to draw electricity from the grid. During the day, while the sun is shining, the Power Saver cuts off the grid supply to the inverter, so your batteries are charged by solar energy first. After sunset, it automatically reconnects the inverter to the grid, so the inverter can keep working normally when solar power is unavailable.
The result: solar always gets first priority, your grid consumption drops, and your existing inverter keeps doing its job.
How it works
- The mains plug of your inverter is connected into the Power Saver's socket.
- The 15A plug of the Power Saver is connected to your mains wall socket.
- A 2-pin signal cable connects the Power Saver to your Systellar solar charge controller.
- The charge controller signals the Power Saver when solar energy is available, and the Power Saver switches the grid supply to the inverter off or on accordingly.

Important compatibility notice
This accessory works only with Systellar brand solar charge controllers. It requires the control signal generated by a Systellar PWM or MPPT charge controller in order to operate. It will not function as a standalone device, and it will not work with solar charge controllers of any other brand. Please make sure you are using — or are also purchasing — a Systellar charge controller before ordering.
