The VentPlus Wi-Fi Relay Unit (Model WRU-700) is an optional accessory for the VentPlus CO2 Monitor & Controller Main Unit — it is not a stand-alone product. Its job is simple but important: it powers your exhaust or fresh-air fan from a location away from the Main Unit, switching the fan on and off in perfect unison with the Main Unit's built-in relay. So the sensor stays where the people (and the CO2) are, while the fan gets its power exactly where you need it — with no long cable running across the room.

Important: The Wi-Fi Relay Unit works only together with the VentPlus CO2 Monitor & Controller Main Unit, which does the actual CO2 sensing and decision-making. The relay has no sensor of its own. You must own (or purchase) the Main Unit for this accessory to function — please buy both together.

Why You'd Want the Wi-Fi Relay:

• No Long Cables — Ever: When your ventilation fan's power point is far from where you want to sense CO2, you'd normally have to run a long power cable from the Main Unit to the fan. The Wi-Fi Relay removes that completely — place the Main Unit where the air needs monitoring, and let the relay power the fan wherever it lives.
• Perfect for Concealed Modern Wiring: In today's homes and offices, wiring is hidden inside walls and an exposed surface cable simply isn't acceptable. The Wi-Fi Relay keeps your installation clean and aesthetic.
• Works Over the Internet — No Shared Network Needed: The relay pairs with the Main Unit over the internet, so the two devices don't even have to be on the same Wi-Fi router or network. Ideal for large buildings, different rooms, or multi-floor installations.
• Moves in Unison With the Main Unit: The relay switches ON the moment the Main Unit's internal relay turns the fan on (when CO2 crosses your set limit) and switches OFF when the air is fresh again — fully automatic demand-controlled ventilation, exactly like the built-in socket.
• Manual Override Built In: A 3-position AUTO / OFF / ON switch lets you leave it fully automatic, force the fan off, or force it on whenever you need manual control.
• Visible on Your Remote Dashboard: The relay's live status (ON / OFF / Disconnected / Disabled) is shown right alongside CO2, temperature, humidity and the local relay status on the VentPlus remote monitoring website — viewable from any phone, tablet or desktop browser, no app required.

How It Gets Associated With the Main Unit:

• 1. Connect to the Internet: Plug in the Wi-Fi Relay Unit and connect it to the internet through any available Wi-Fi router. It does not need to share the same network as the Main Unit.
• 2. Pair With Your Main Unit: Each Wi-Fi Relay pairs with one Main Unit (one-to-one pairing). Once paired, the Main Unit's CO2-based control decisions are sent to the relay over the internet.
• 3. Run in Unison: From then on, the relay mirrors the Main Unit's fan commands automatically — the Main Unit senses the CO2 and decides; the relay powers the fan wherever it's installed.

A Typical Use Case:

Imagine the room where you want to measure CO2 (say, a bedroom or conference room) and the point where your exhaust fan draws its power are on opposite sides of the room or in different rooms. Instead of laying an unsightly long power cable from the Main Unit's socket to that fan, you install the Main Unit where it can accurately sense the air, and place the Wi-Fi Relay Unit at the fan's power point. The Main Unit senses CO2 and decides when ventilation is needed; the Wi-Fi Relay switches the fan on and off in step — and you can watch both relays working live on your remote monitoring dashboard.

Do You Need the Wi-Fi Relay?

If your CO2 sensor and your ventilation fan are in the same location, the Main Unit's built-in AC socket is all you need — the Wi-Fi Relay is not required. Choose the Wi-Fi Relay when the fan's power point is far from the Main Unit and you want to avoid running a long cable, or when concealed wiring makes an exposed cable impractical.

This accessory works exclusively with the VentPlus CO2 Monitor & Controller Main Unit. Please ensure you have the Main Unit, as the Wi-Fi Relay Unit cannot sense CO2 or operate on its own.
